When large mechanical units are installed on commercial rooftops, proper structural support is critical for both safety and long-term performance. Steel support structures are commonly engineered and installed to evenly distribute the weight of HVAC and mechanical equipment while protecting the integrity of the roof system.
In this project, galvanized structural steel framing was installed on top of a commercial building to create a stable platform for future mechanical units. Each support point was carefully positioned and mounted to ensure the load would be properly transferred through the building structure below.
Using structural steel for rooftop mechanical supports offers several advantages, including durability, strength, corrosion resistance, and the ability to customize the framework to fit specific equipment requirements. Proper installation also helps improve accessibility for future maintenance and servicing.
Projects like these require precise fabrication, accurate layout work, and close coordination with roofing and mechanical contractors to ensure everything is installed safely and efficiently.
