Building enclosures that are both safe and durable for animal residents needs precision craftsmanship. That’s why The Welding Shop Calgary has stepped up to supply large structural steel posts and beams for a new animal enclosure at the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo.

From concept to completion, The Welding Shop Calgary offers full custom metal-fabrication services, from design and drafting to finishing. For this project, those capabilities matter: the steel framework for a major animal habitat has to be robust, precise, and built to last.

The Zoo’s mission is education, conservation and animal welfare, with more than 4,000 animals representing over 100 species. The new enclosure will benefit the animals and the visitors alike: clean, strong structures allow for safer viewing, better animal flow, and more immersive habitat design.

Visitors can look forward to seeing this new habitat in the coming months — and when they do, they’ll be looking at the kind of behind‐the‐scenes steel work that doesn’t just hold up beams, but holds up experiences.
