What is a Gantry

A gantry, according to the web, is a bridge-like overhead structure with a platform supporting equipment such as a crane, railroad signals, lights, or cameras. You may also have this word indelibly etched in your mind from the glorious days of rockets and NASA and going to the moon when every astronaut had to walk a gantry to get into the command module before blasting off.
