Hanging Out Your Shingle Just Got More Complicated

When you are a new business you want to get you company name and logo out into the world.

The most common way if your business resides in a commercial building, is to hang a sign with your name and logo on the building. In the old days this was known as hanging out your shingle, which literally means to open an office or business.

A shingle or small sign board was typically hand painted and hung in front of stores and offices to draw attention.

These days bigger is always better when trying to point attention at yourself.

This is where you need a professional welding service to create the frame that is going to hang your giant shingle.

The Welding Shop Calgary can create metal frames to hold a sign of any dimension and weight.

Getting Ready For Powder Coat

Lighting a torch and making a puddle are the glamorous parts of welding. The hard work begins after the welds are made and the metal has cooled.

Now the grind begins. Before the project can be sent out for powder coat and paint the welds have to be ground smooth to give everything that finished pro look.

Just like this set of stairs on its way to the paint shop.

Welding Is a Dirty Business

Why should steel be cleaned before welded or repaired?

Steel surfaces and areas being repaired should always be cleaned before welding to prevent an adverse effect on the weld quality. Any contaminant like dirt or rust can impact the integrity of the job and lead to failure in the weld.

It’s a dirty job but needs to be done.

The Welding Shop Calgary understands the importance of making every job perfect and our commitment to a job well done sometimes comes with a bit of dusty work.
