Security cages for outdoor fixed ladders are an essential safety feature that is required by many building codes and regulations. A fixed ladder, which is typically bolted to the side of a building or other tall structure, is designed to protect a climber from falling if they lose their grip on the ladder. However, without a security cage, the climber may still be at risk of falling from the ladder or off the landing area.

The regulations for security cages for outdoor fixed ladders specify that the cage needs extend at least 42 inches above the landing area. Additionally, the regulations state that the cage must begin between 7 and 8 feet off the ground. This clearance allows a person to walk into the cage to climb the ladder without hitting their head while still providing necessary protection against falls.

Cold Weather Welding

The pipe when fully created will run under an existing highway and  redirect heavier than usual spring run off.

Cold weather is not the most optimal time to be welding but The Welding Shop persisted to get the job done.

Simple But Smart

This simple but smart welding project is something that is practical and inexpensive.

With very little effort this aluminum shelf design can be configured hundreds of different ways to accommodate the bed of your pick up or utility van.

How many times have you had to place different materials into you work vehicle but really could have used a way to separate them. This simple set up adds separation both for things like PVC or copper tubing, and at the same time creates a platform to place sheets of drywall or plywood over top. This creates segregated areas for different materials storage while in transport.
